About me.

Hello! My name is Ryan and I am the founder of Polyglossos. I am a high school junior based in Michigan, USA. I am a native speaker in Mandarin Chinese and English, and have 6 years of experience with Latin. I founded Polyglossos because I noticed how little attention the second language program gets in a lot of schools, especially the Classics. I hope Polyglossos can be a more casual way for people to learn Classics whether you are thinking about starting or already a few years in the process. The point of learning Classics is not to eventually speak it, in fact it is not meaningful to do so. Rather, it is about having the proper context to understand our past and the influence that the Romans and the Greek have on us. However, Classics isn't necessarily very easy to pick up, so Polyglossos aims to make Classics more accessible with social media and newsletter content, along with a forum for people to share their experiences and ask questions about Classics.
